Warm Home Discount Scheme
The Warm Home Discount Scheme has closed. It will reopen in October 2026.
The Warm Home Discount Scheme is a one-off £150 discount off your electricity bill. If you’re eligible, your electricity supplier will apply the discount to your bill. You may be able to get the discount on your gas bill instead if your supplier provides you with both gas and electricity and you’re eligible.

Cold Weather Payments
If you receive Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit you will automatically receive a one-off Cold Weather Payment from the Government each time it gets very cold.
Winter Fuel Payment
If you were born before 28 June 1960 you could get between £100 and £300 to help you pay your heating bills for winter 2026 to 2027. There is more information on UK Government website - Winter Fuel Payment

Discretionary assistance fund (DAF)

Mortgages: Help to Stay Wales Scheme
The aim of this scheme is to help homeowners remain in their homes by reducing monthly mortgage payments to a more affordable level. Support is provided through a shared equity loan for eligible homeowners experiencing financial difficulty with mortgage repayments.
You may be eligible if:
- you are struggling to meet your mortgage payments
- your household income is below £67,000
- your property is worth no more than £300,000
- you live in Wales
- the property is your only home
